JY waited for five years to start a family. Two years ago, she underwent an IUI and IVF cycle at another centre, both of which were unsuccessful.
After a six-month wait, she switched to Metro IVF for her second IVF cycle, this time using an antagonist protocol. Also known as a short protocol, it involves about nine days of injections to stimulate multiple eggs to mature, with antagonist injections added in the last three days to prevent early ovulation.
Two Day 3 embryos were obtained and frozen. Three months later, an FET was performed. Lo and behold, both her UPT and beta-hCG test results were positive! JY’s pregnancy progressed smoothly, and she delivered a healthy baby boy with us.
