Born in Melaka, Dr. Prakash completed his primary education in Tangkak and secondary education in Klang. He graduated from the University of Malaya with a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery in 2005. After completing his internship at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (HTAR), Klang, he proceeded to specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at his alma mater and was awarded Master in Medicine (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) in 2013.
He started to serve as a specialist in Hospital Umum Sarawak (HUS), Kuching. Subsequently, he also served at Hospital Sibu, Hospital Bintulu, Hospital Sri Aman, Hospital Betong, and Hospital Kapit as a visiting specialist. In HUS, he developed his skills in laparoscopic surgery. To date, he is experienced in performing advanced gynecology and fertility-related laparoscopic surgery.
Fuelled by a burning desire to care for infertile couples, he continued his training at University Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre, the renowned training hospital in Malaysia for infertility. Thereafter, he furthered his training at the Department of Reproductive Medicine, Hospital Alor Setar.
