IVF Success in the Face of Adenomyosis

At 40 years old, our patient had a history of fertility treatments in other centres, having gone through one IUI cycle in 2019 and two IVF treatments in 2021, all unsuccessful. Upon visiting one of our specialists at Metro IVF, her scans revealed a 4cm adenomyosis with two 3-4cm endometriotic cysts. However, she was not keen on surgery and going under general anaesthesia.

The couple decided on IVF treatment, to which a good number of eggs were collected and sent for preimplantation genetic testing. After a single blastocyst transfer, they are now blessed with a healthy baby girl.

With three more frozen euploid embryos in storage, the couple will be able to use them in the future should they want to expand their family.
