Dr Lim Shu Yan obtained her medical degree in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery MBBS from Melaka Manipal Medical College. Upon completion, she served in Hospital Sultan Ismail, Johor Bahru and subsequently trained in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department of Melaka General Hospital where she was trained in surgical procedures, patient counselling as well as management of obstetric and gynaecology cases. She then continued her training at Metro IVF Fertility Centre’s headquarters in Klang and Metro IVF Puchong in the management of fertility couples which includes fertility investigations for both men and women, IUI, IVF as well as post fertility treatment luteal support.
Being an active advocate for women’s health, Dr. Lim shares her knowledge with patients under her care so that they are well informed on all aspects of investigations and treatment.
Dr. Lim also takes a holistic approach in patient management by taking into account mental and social factors as she believes that women’s health also affects all aspects of life. Other than providing accurate diagnosis and proper treatment for her patients, Dr. Lim also provides emotional support by overcoming the obstacles faced by her patients together, in an effort to help raise public awareness and to provide social support which is crucial in this journey.
