Dr. Magendra A/L Ramalingam achieved his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees in 1991 from Mangalore University, Karnataka, India. Following that, he earned his Masters of Obstetrics & Gynaecology in 2001 from University Malaya. In 2015, he successfully completed his Fellowship Training in Reproductive Medicine under the Ministry of Health, Malaysia. He then took the lead in establishing and overseeing the Fertility Unit at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah, Klang (HTAR).
One of Dr. Magendra’s significant contributions was his pivotal role in launching the IVF Shared Care program in 2008, a collaborative effort between HTAR and esteemed private medical institutions like Metro IVF. The program’s remarkable success was highlighted when it achieved the delivery of its first set of IVF twins in the same year, a story covered by The Star newspaper.
Dr. Magendra’s influence extended to his involvement as a council member of (OGSM) Obstetrical & Gynaecological Society of Malaysia and member of the National ART Committee, hence a contributor to the advancements in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) in Malaysia. He played a crucial role in drafting the National Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) Policy in collaboration with the Ministry of Health Malaysia, underscoring his commitment to the medical community’s progress.
With his unwavering dedication to patient care, Dr. Magendra has earned the admiration of both his patients and peers. His approach is characterised by compassion, patience, and extensive expertise in the realm of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART).
Presently, Dr. Magendra holds the esteemed position of Fertility Consultant at Klinik Pakar Wanita Metro Bukit Tinggi 2 and serves as a key figure at the Metro IVF Klang headquarters.
